Flashes of Hope

Flashes of Hope is a 501c-3 non-profit organization dedicated to photographing children with cancer. Our
goal is to present every family touched by pediatric cancer with a portrait that celebrates the courage, spirit
and life of their child. Award winning photographers and make-up artists create portraits that help the children
feel better about their changing appearance and have indescribable meaning for families who lose a child.

Shoots are held monthly at University Hospitals and The Cleveland Clinic. Special shoots are also arranged in
photographers’ studios and in the homes of terminally ill children. Flashes of Hope was founded in August of 2001
by the parents of a 2-year old cancer patient and was recently named “Best New Non-profit” by Cleveland Magazine.
Thanks to the generosity of the photographers and make-up artists, more than 100 families are presented
with portraits each year.
